The Western's Channel is my favorite channel besides Turner Classic Movies. I love all the interstitial pieces you have done. I did one for Turner Classic Movies a few years ago. The Channel needs to use you more. Those pieces really make the channel more than just a movie channel. Now when I hear the word "tony" in an old western or book, I know what that means.

Bob...........Thanks for the invite. Having lived in the West almost my entire life, I too, have a true love of the old West. My wife and I watch mostly classic westerns instead of the drivel that modern TV promotes. This is my first post, and I'm not familiar, yet, with the website, but will keep tuned in to see what's happening..

I don't know whose idea this website was, but I'm gonna give you credit. I'll leave it up to you to pass it along to the right person or just take it for yourself. Thanks, man. Great website! As soon as all this snow melts, I'll start gathering pictures of every ghost town and point of interest in the state of Montana.

I'm still looking for information on Commodore Perry Owens wife
Elizabeth Barrett she died Apr. 1945 in San Diego, California and was buried in Greenwood Cem. there but so far cant get a picture of her stone if she even has one. Any suggestions ? I have a couple pictures of her and then the ones of C.P.

Bob, I am in Houston visiting and have found a bookstore with "60s" issuses of "True West" magazines sealed up in plastic. Kind of interesting that they have been listed in the classics.

Mr. Bell:
After hornswoggling a copy of your "Best of the West", I am enjoying it immensely. The photo of your office is markedly similar to one taken of mine, except I have a G5, not an iMac (but good on you for being one of the ten percent), and the big poster on my wall (and I mean BIG) is for "The Professionals", still my favorite Western.
It was nice to see you give the Best Independent Bootmaker to the Paul Bond Company in Nogales. I've had a pair since the mid-90s and wouldn't trade them for anything.

Just wanted to make a nice comment on the work you did with the History Channel's "The Dalton Gang Raid". I thought that it was one of the best DVD's on the Dalton boys that I have seen. Just bought that DVD recently really enjoyed it!

I love to read and see everything that I can on the Dalton boys they are my favorites!!!!!

I just wanted to officially thank you for the "Readers Choice" pick as Best Living Photographer of 2009 (No pressure there) I will try to live up to it....if I can figure out all the settings on my fancy new digital camera machine. Good luck peddling the "Mickey Free" book. If you get a popular seller you can let Hollywood find you. They did a film about "Blueberry" and they are gearing up for "Jonah Hex". When they run out of all the other comics and superheros they will come back to what the people like. In any case....good luck!

Tonite I was at the Parker Court room to begin a reenactment of a hearing involving Deputy Cole's testimony and the need for a prosecutory trial for 2 subjects. These 2 gents were indirectly involved in the death of Frank Dalton. Frank Dalton was shot by one logger and killed by a 15 year old boy named Towersly. Our hearing,which is a combination of my group Lawbreakers and Peacemakers and the Westerners group Corral here in Ft Smith, concerner two other perps who fired on Daltons partner Deputy Cole. Lots o gun fire in a tent town lots o dead folks I can conduct this as an in progrees article or as a blog its up to you. I have written for local papers on other stuff but never nationaly.This is a very convoluted case and will require side research into Daltons and his killers actual demise as well as how we put this action together to present the hearing to the public in May. These performances inhance and supply funding to the Parkers Court House museum and are traditionaly sold out events. Let me know what you think by the way glad you got Gene Kurz to join the community.
