People like you are found only in one place ...looking up at the bottom of cow-pies.

Hi, Brian, I think it's interesting that you list "fist-fighting" as an interest, yet you are a Canadian. The Canadians I've encountered all seem like goody-two-shoes who squeal when they hear talk of guns. Hey! Are you sure you're not an American? Just kidding! Don't get mad! You look like a serious piece of business, so I don't want to get in trouble here. I know you have a tremendous cowboy/Western tradition up there. I'd love to go to the Calgary Stampede some day. Anyway, welcome and hope I didn't offend you. Becky

Hey - I get into a lot of trouble because of saying what I think. Sometimes I get gun shy!! Hope you didn't mind my teasing. I'll cease and desist and try to behave myself.

I don't have a block on things. If it's not nice, I figure I probably deserved it, and if I don't like it I just NEVER SPEAK TO THEM AGAIN IN MY WHOLE LIFE. I'm sure some of them are relieved by that! LOL

I just ordered your book from amazon! I won't hold it against you!! Ha ha.

I gotta get off this site and get to work. Later.

Hey, Brian! I was going to contact you tonight, so it was good to hear from you. I got your book today! I haven't had a chance to really read it, but I will later. I'll tell you right off, I like the illustrations...I'll hold off judgment on the cover until I read the book. The cover is very unique and fun and not all serious serious like most cowboy poetry stuff. I can't wait to read your poems!!

I'll send you a separate message with a contact for me. Sometimes I'm not on this site for long spells...just get too sidetracked and busy. I don't think it means anything that people haven't contacted you though. I only get contacted intermittently. I'll catch you here pretty soon.

Well, I think it was the poet Keats who said, "Beauty is truth; truth Beauty."

Whatever. :)

Glad to see you're still around and determined. Hadn't heard anything from you. Thought I might have to hunt you down and slap you around a bit. Ha ha ha. Ooops. There I go bein' mean to you again!

Enjoyed your book that you and Mike did. I suppose the cover is light-hearted, carefree and happy, like most of the poems. I just have not ever seen a cowboy poetry book cover like that, but it fits fine. Loved the illustrations. Plus, I got a kick out of a lot of the poems.

At first I thought the book was going to be full of cartoons, to be honest. It's a cute cover, but I don't think it probably helped your sales. Covers sell books. Take a look at Stoney's cover. It's somewhere in my pictures.

Hey, Brian, GOOD to hear from you. I was wondering where you disappeared to. I don't know what you're talking about...I'll send you a message on the private line.

Brian, go to www.cowboyminer.com. This company publishes cowboy poetry! Stoney Bowers found the site.

Does the Pacific Crest Trail run through British Columbia? I'm thinking of running away next year...once my mare's been trained.

Okay. I know the Pacific Crest Trail runs border to border for sure, but for some reason I thought it ran into Canada also, but I'll do some checking it out. I'm not so depressed tonight, but still, I have this GREAT mare that's being trained...and she's going to be one heck of a fine animal. Smarter than hell. Has some World Champions and Senior world Champson the sire's side. It shows. I rescued her last fall...she was a bag of bones. 5 years old. Never ever trained for diddly squat. You wouldn't believe it to see her now. My main guy, Quincy, is about 22...I've got a few good years left on him, but I don't know that he's up for any LONG journeys. Great horse though. I just need a punching bag right now. :) But, hey! Notice I'm not picking on you!!! Yet. Ha ha.

I always like to hear that. I love this horse. He's the first horse I've ever owned...we've been through a lot together. Back in the day, we were "green horse, green rider." That made for a bad combination, but stuck it out.

I'll do that. I'll get back to you when I figure out which way is north. Ha ha ha. Just think! I used to trailer all over the high Cascades and Sisters Wilderness with my horse and I always found my way back...well, my horse helped a lot!

Yeah, the Germs are all business during working hours but really kick up their heals during party time--and I don't mean goosestepping either.

'Dem's Fighting words, Darlin' :)!
Our family is Scottish and very proud.
In fact, we are 'newish' to the US, because my family spend a time in Canada as well.
It's nice to meet you!

Like I always tell my girls...First: Say what you mean and mean what you say and then remember it's not what you say, it's HOW you say it that leaves the lasting impression. Getting conversation going to a roilin boil is one thing...being a forum troll and then backing off to watch others get worked up is another. I'm not usually fooled, I hope I'm wrong.

I enjoy your poems.

lol..sounds like we're similar, I'm not a doormat, and I have no problem standing up for what I believe in either...the McShane in me won't allow a backdown, but I do admit when I'm wrong. My gut has served me well in my years as a L.E.O. Strong personality is one thing, insulting the entire forum is another. But I'll accept your word for it...and honestly, no need to keep beating it in the ground. I said my piece, you said yours, that's that.

A forum troll:...a small excerpt:
What is an Internet Troll/ Forum troll?
An "Internet troll" or "Forum Troll" or "Message Board Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to bait people to answer. Forum Troll delights in sowing discord on the forums. A troll is someone who inspires flaming rhetoric, someone who is purposely provoking and pulling people into flaming discussion. Flaming discussions usually end with name calling and a flame war.

A classic CureZone troll is trying to make us believe that he is a genuine skeptic with no hidden agenda. He is divisive and argumentative with need-to-be-right attitude, "searching for the truth", flaming discussion, and sometimes insulting people or provoking people to insult him. Troll is usually an expert in reusing the same words of its opponents and in turning it against them.
While sometimes, he may sound like a stupid, uninformed, ignorant poster, do not be deceived! Most trolls are highly intelligent people trying to hide behind a mask of stupidity and/or ignorance! They usually have an agenda. Very few trolls come to CureZone out of pure skepticism.

A CureZone Troll is generally a person who is extremely skeptical of the main forum subject.
He is generally interested to make other forum members look stupid. A troll will sometimes use insults to provoke other people to insult him. Then, he will complain to moderators of being insulted and will request that his opponents get banned from further discussion.
