What Do Bitter Creek Newcomb And BBB Have In Common?

January 16, 2009
Just after Christmas, my daughter Deena finally showed me a photo she took on March 23, 2008. She told me she couldn't look at it for a very long time. The scene: Kingman Regional Hospital where a certain drummer ended up after playing Wipeout at the Elks Lodge in downtown Kingman.

When she finally shared it with me and asked me what I thought of it, I laughed and told her I look exactly like Bitter Creek Newcomb after he was bushwhacked by the Dunn brothers in Oklahoma. She didn't think that was odd in the least because, as she put it, almost everything in my life gets compared to something in the Old West.

So without further ado:

Separated At Death?

The photo in question is a famous morgue image of outlaw Bitter Creek and Charley Pierce stretched out for identification. So not only do I look like certain Old West outlaws, I even look like certain dead ones, from time to time.

What's funny to me is, your version is twice as funny: "I'll be dipped if you don't." Ha. I'm stealing that one. Thanks.

Sorry. Robert Ray just showed me how to accept friends. Better late than never, eh?
