Some Pictures from the Lone Ranger Set

Looking at the pictures, I just think that Johnny Depp wants to make every character into a version of Capt Jack Sparrow - not that there's anything wrong with that, but NOT Tonto!

Thanks for sharing. Hate the Lone Ranger hat and the open collar look (so 2000s), but rather dig Tonto's J.D. Challenger look. Could work if it's funny enough. They have filmed at Melody Ranch and supposedly built a town near Albuquerque. Haven't heard if they also built one near Silver City. I do know they have an incredible train wreck filmed, involving a real train, so that probably means they utilized The Train Man, Jim Clark, who, by the way, did not tell me this.

Jim, I have faith that Depp won't channel Jack Sparrow in his film roles from now on. He's a much more creative actor than that. Just in the little bit from the Dark Shadows trailer, he's changing character there, so Tonto is in good hands.

As I said before, he's gone from sparrow to crow.

Murray-are you alright? It sounds like you were raven!O.K.,it's a real stretch but it is the only pun I could think of.

Sue-by any chance are you a D.S. fan?Jonathan Frid did a cameo on the D.S. film and just passed on April 13th at 87.

Anthony, I'm OK, but I can't decide if I'm a little cuckoo or a loon.

Perhaps if Johnny had put a Loon on top of his headress.......

Agreed. Somehow the crow looks good in the portrait of the warrior that inspired Depp's get-up, but Depp's interpretation doesn't quite catch the spirit. Too Timothy Burton. (Or Leary) He needs a proper Western clothier --- Anthony!  (BTW, Anthony, I must not be a D.S. fan because I don't know what/who you're talking about. Jonathan Frid sounds everso vaguely familiar -- wait, he wasn't a member of Monte Python, was he. Sorry, Anthony. My condolences in regards to Jonathan.)

  Sue,

And I thought Mundo,Murray and I had the corner on most of the smart assed-ness around here. You're pretty good!

  Murray,

More bird silliness-one good tern deserves another.

I love this comment on the photo:

That stuffed crow is why Coco Chanel wrote, "Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory."
