My aunt and uncle Claudia and Glenn Bell drove over to Palm Springs this morning to take a gander at the new Marylin Monroe statue. Big puppy, no?
Switched gears this morning and whipped out a scratchboard of Kissing Jennie before I went into work. Sorry to say, I'm a little rusty.
Yes, she's holding a glass eye (if you read True West you know why).
Spent the afternoon in the Beast, going over video of our new TV show Outrageous Arizona. So far, looks very good but I need to finish a bunch of ambitious paintings in the next two weeks. We're expecting big crowds at the premiere. Gee, I wonder what old Bach has to say about this?
"You don't tell the quality of a master by the size of his crowds."
—Richard Bach
A friend and I were discussing this "work of art" a few days ago.Southern Ca.lets it's historic artifacts crumble into dust or get swept away by greedy developers but they always seem to muster resources for this sort of nonsense, and it is always gratifying to see the local mouth breathers standing between the legs making salacious comments. This place need a colonic!

Well put . . . not enough money for schools, parks, preserving the worth while element of your states history . . . but now the new idiot in office ( worse that the last idiot that was in office - - who wasn't too bad ) .. . with his great plan to ship water down south with a tunnel costing billions and billions of water . . . . . DAMN . . . :(
Comment by Wolfgang on July 27, 2012 at 9:59am ps. and to spend more Billions on a "high speed" rail line . . . even more DAMN ! :(
Re Marilyn Monroe statue:
Why, man, she doth bestride the public imagination
Like a Colossus, and we petty men
Walk under her huge legs and peep about
While leading our anonymous existences.
---paraphrased from William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar ... Cassius to Brutus
Comment by Bob Boze Bell on July 27, 2012 at 2:31pm That's a pretty sweet poach, my man.
Comment by Margaret-Anne Moore on July 28, 2012 at 2:25pm Well said, Wolfgang. We have gotten to the point that we must get someplace immediately if not sooner! If I want to go to San Francisco I will go north on Interstate 5 or go north on old Highway 101 and enjoy the scenery and the sites.
Comment by Sue Cauhape on July 28, 2012 at 5:20pm I still think she's AWESOME!
