It's fun to see what you find when you look.

A few days ago Bob mentioned about a digital collection at University of New Mexico. I enjoyed checking out its priceless photos. It made me think of looking at other collections on the web. The more I dug, the more I discovered. There are so many digital resources out there. One I found is the New York Public Library's Digital Gallery it provides free and open access to over 700,000 images digitized from the The NYPL's vast collections, including illuminated manuscripts, historical maps, vintage posters, rare prints, photographs.
Here are some gems I stumbled on.

Jesse and Frank James.

Some old eastern theater cowboys.

And this guy titled, Dressed to fight
A la Mickey Free. I guess it is a pix of Nat Love. A black cowboy (sorry un-PC)

Your picture of "Ready to Fight" is to good looking to be Micky Free, besides Mickey Free was a Irish Mexican that lived with Apaches, and this guy looks more of a clean cut Black Cowboy.

I'm not sure but I think that black cowboy is Nat Love.
