Comment by Margaret-Anne Moore on January 6, 2013 at 1:09pm Thank you for "Hard Winter." Your Charlie looks just like him, and he is holding what has become ny very favorite of his works. He managed to say volumes with only a small postcard! My Father was born in Iowa in 1899, and he told me some of what he had been told by relatives and neighbors who had lived through that blizzard of January, 1886. The 1880s as a whole was a time of horrible weather throughout the area. Thanks again.
Comment by Neil Waring on January 6, 2013 at 3:19pm That winter played a huge role in Wyoming History also-I always spent extra time talking about the changes that winter brought to the cattle industry in my Wyoming and Western history classes. The drawing is incredible, hardly needs a caption.
