Encore Westerns start the Wyatt Earp TV series

And episode #1 was today, beginning in Ellsworth. I don't ever recall the starting episode, but it was kind of laughably entertaining, except of course Wyatt wasn't in Ellsworth at the time, & Sheriff Whitney was a friend of the Thompson's when Billy accidentally shot him. The portrayal of Ben Thompson was way off & I don't think even Wyatt could have Buffalo'd Ben at any time.
Hope the series gets better (the sound synchronization was off) & we get some good guest stars. I don't suspect old Hugh O'Brien gets payments for these re-runs......he will have to continue to hawk autographs. More's the pity.

Loved it when I was a little younger-will watch again. Seems like none of these shows paid much attention to actual history or setting, but they still are kind of fun to watch.

I recall watching the series back in the 50's, but I don't think I saw this one, the starter.

I did have to laugh when Old Wyatt drew his two revolvers and shot the three guys, but did not kill any of them. What a shot!

The title of the series is "The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp." I think they just concentrated on the "legend" part,,,

But is was good fun anyway.
