I've been hoping someone else would pick this up, but nothing so far, so I guess it falls to me. Great recent article on Route 66, but Bobby Troup must be spinning. How many times have you played Route 66, Bob, especially in Kingman? As an NAU grad (and sax player) I know where Winona is, and I'm sure you do, but it should have been on the map for those who haven't experienced the Winona metroplex. Bobby cautioned us "...don't forget Winona", but TW did.
Love the magazine, keep up the good work, with maybe a skosh more history.

Yes, that is a major error on our part, forgetting to put Winona on the doubletruck map! Crazy Bad Boys! Oh, and you will have your wish, we are adding a bunch more history in the next issue. And, by the way, I really want to do a heavy train issue in the spring next year (rode the Durango-Silvteron line, bought several books and am really getting into that amazing history) AND we are possibly doing a True West Rail Fest in Durango next August and I want your involvement. You available?
Comment by Jim Pettengill on September 2, 2011 at 6:52pm You bet. I'm vice-president of the Ridgway Railroad Museum. We have the fully operational RGS Galloping Goose 1 which we ran at Railfest twice about ten years ago, and are just finishing restoration of Goose #4 (the Telluride Goose) whithis week ran under its own power for the first time in almost 60 years. It MIGHT be ready by next year's railfest. I've done quite a bit of photography on the D&S, and our museum would be quite interested in helping. Please email me for more info so I don't clog up the forum.
