Are you going to see Cowboys and Aliens?

Who all is going to see Cowboys and Aliens this weekend? I guess I will, although I am a bit apprehensive, being a conservative, traditional kinda guy. Just don't know how I will like the mix. But, I figure the guns, clothes and scenery will keep me occupied, even if the story is weak. What about you?

Going to see a sneak preview of it tonight. Supposed to be 70% Western and 20% alien, according to a review I read yesterday. I'll give you the skinny tomorrow.

The wife, son and I are going to watch it Sunday. Looking forward to it. Can't be any worse than last years sci-fi western, which wasn't great but a western none the less.

Yes indeed!  Should be lots of fun, regardless.

Good point, Buck. Jonah Hex wasn't as great as I had hoped it would be. But, even an average Western is better than no Western at all.

probably see it on Sunday.  Dubious regarding it's merit, given that the studio's development exec's were reportedly delivering storyboards to the director on the set, telling him what to shoot -- but you never know.   It might not be a steaming pile.

We see constant complaints about "belt loops and buscardos." How can we accept aliens? Westerns should at least attempt to be close to historically accurate. Aliens??? sorry, just can't buy the concept. Perhaps is there were some comments in Stuart Lakes Earp saga. Maybe something in Garretts writtings? Or, heck, even something from Mark Twain. But, nothing,,,,

Can't buy it,,,, sorry

After reading some of Twain's adventures in Roughing it, I'm surprised he didn't see ET's in the wide Nevada sky.
