I wanna say we were talking about this around a year or so ago.
Saw this and had to post it
Comment by Sue Cauhape on April 30, 2012 at 4:57pm That's one to look forward to. And what a cast: Costner, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, Tom Beringer, Mare Winningham. What's weird about these people is most of them were in the two Wyatt Earp movies. Do you think they line up on opposite sides in the Hatfield/McCoy movie? Just sayin'.
Here's a question of categorization that sometimes comes up: Is this a "Western"? It looks like it has all the ingredients of the genre, but takes place farther east, in Appalachia, I believe, and is filmed much farther east---in Roumania, apparently.
I thought the same thing-the time period is right but the setting is Kentucky and West Virginia.I know quite a few Hatfields and McCoys and used to date one of the McCoy women.Still,if memory serves Jesse and Frank held up a stage when they were back in Kentucky.
Comment by Sue Cauhape on May 2, 2012 at 2:34pm Don't you guys know that The West is anyplace west of the Hudson River?
Sue,
My English uncle tells me it's anyplace west of the Thames.

Comment by Michael on May 6, 2012 at 10:44am The Hatfield/McCoy issue was not a blood fued. It was about money, power, land, timber, water, politics etc. It was a socio-economic dispute. A number of Hatfields sided with the McCoys and a number of McCoys sided with the Hatfields. I lost faith in the "History Channel" long ago. I'm surprised that it's not starring Larry the Cable Guy, but who knows, maybe I'll be surprised.
