For all of you who knew my husband, Sam Talley, he has passed away and has gone to Heaven to be with our Lord. He sure liked being a member of this wonderful group of people and has had many pleasant moments writing history for this group. Just wanted you to know the reason you have not heard from him lately. Sincerely, Kathleen Talley

Comment by Lethalrancher on March 31, 2012 at 2:52pm I am sorry to hear of your loss.....no one can tell you how you feel at this time....lots of folks will sympathize which is most proper...I will tell you that also.......I lost my wife of some 44 years just two weeks ago this coming Monday.....my life has changed for the rest of my days.......we will keep you in our prayers......my Uncle William Granville Taylor or Uncle Billy as we all called him had a connection to the Talley family as his mother was a Tally......I realize there are many Talley's in this old world.....but maybe a distant connection.......

Thank you so much for your kind comments regarding my husband.
To: Lethalrancher, I am very sorry for your loss also. Sam and I would have been married 47 yrs come this Aug. We were high school sweethearts having known each since I was 16 and Sam 17.But went to rival high schools with Sam as a football star for his school. LOL Sincerely, Kathleen
Comment by Michael on March 31, 2012 at 7:22pm Sorry for your loss. You should take comfort in the fact that one of your husband's last posts involved the beauty and mystery of the heavens.
My condolences. I didn't really know Sam, except through his writings here, but he seemed like a really nice guy with great love and enthusiasm for the West and its true history, and a genuine and ongoing thirst for additional knowledge about the subject. His sincere questions and comments led to some very enlightening and interesting discussions at this site.
So sorry Kathleen our thoughts are with you and God Bless
