Truth about Indians whooping and hollering

I would like to know if the Indians really did all that  yelling as in the movies. Seems to me they lose all the surprise element. I am part Cherokee and it does'nt make sense to me.Continue

"Hi Charley:        I have often heard this about mules. That is one of the main reasons they are used to pack people down the Grand Canyon. They do not panic and are more sure footed. Thanks for all the info. Sammy Leonard"
