Experiencing the Old West

I'm a True West Maniac, #48. A few years ago I got tired of reading about the Wild West and decided to experience it first hand as much as I could. I started organizing 19th Century inspired adventures. Historic horseback rides (I supply the horses), steamboat cruises, train trips ... you name it. My wife and I have had a ball and have not only experienced our Wild West dreams, but have met fantastic people on our trips who have become lifetime friends.

I'd like to invite everyone to…

Steve,

You need to check out the video Will Killem posted. http://truewest.ning.com/video/a-tribute-to-alamo-village
It would be a perfect advertisement for the Alamo Adventure.

Stev,

I just left a message for Will Killem and noticed you invited them to join one of your rides. Bo is planning on being in Tombstone for Helldorado Days and I hope to catch up with him as well as "Morgan Earp". Maybe we can get "True West" corner in a local establishment for a get together.

Steve my good friend!

Welcome to the jungle. Good to hear from you. Hope all is well. Working on producing a great new western called "Get out of Dodge". It is a big screen project. Maybe when the time comes I will give you and all my "Buckaroo" brothers a call. We will always be linked together as Buckaroos. Take care and stay in touch.

Hi Steve and thanks for your comments! Calico is one of my favorite local haunts and I've been going there for years doing reenactment..going there this weekend for Calico Days...kinda clashes with the Vendetta dates I think!..but maybe next year..I'm pretty loyal to Calico Days, tho, so we'll see! ;) I also love Virginia City and my bestest favorite is Bodie..there is nowhere else like it on the planet...been going there for years, too! Sad to say that I'm not the seamstress, I can sew, but it's actually my friend, Elizabeth Wolff (on TW, too) who makes my amazing gowns. I have had horses since I was 7 years old..I have a modest breeding farm here in the High Desert, CA, but my stallion is spectacular!...I got really lucky picking him up...he's imported from Brazil. I was browsing your adventures and thought how fun it would be to go on one..I'd especially like to experience a 1860s based one! Take care, Rebecca...and thanks for the friends add!
