Well, What'd Ya Think?

Didja watch "The Real Wyatt Earp" last night? Here's the Good and Notsa Good, IMHO

Good
Program showed Wyatt Earp in more realistic terms--not a superhero and not a criminal with a badge
I liked BBB's comment that in todays terms WE "would fit right in on the Vegas strip."
In those terms people with beginning or vague interest in WE for once werent spoon-fed Stuart Lake

Notsa Good
Glaring ommission: didnt even mention Virgil's shooting
Other ommissions: didnt mention Doc Holliday once although… Continue

Checking In With TW Friends

We were pretty jazzed as Helldorado Days approached. Then several of us met during HD and it was like a family reunion. Then we posted alot during and debriefed after HD, talking about our experiences and how HD was even better than we expected. But it seems folks have faded away abit. And that might be normal after sharing a great experience. But I for one am missing chatting and exchanging posts with my friends. How's everybody doin? Bo, Morg, Kevin, Gayle, Jen, Kenneth, Rick, Wacco: howyall d… Continue

Reflections on Helldorado Days

This was my first Helldorado Days. What a great experience!

My wife and I rolled in to Sierra Vista about 3pm the 16th. At first thought we'd wear normal street attire that night since the day's festivities would be over by 5:30, when we planned to meet with Morgan and his wife at Nellie Cashman's. Im glad we changed our minds. We felt right at home when we entered Nellie's and spotted Morg and his wife right away. I checked my pistol at the counter (I politely declined the waitress' offer to t… Continue

Steve, I to enjoy the music of the early 50's and 60's. Have an extensive selection of the music and video clips. Not sure about the Wrecking Crew

More on books.

I am currently trying to get through "John Ringo - King of the Cowboys" by David Johnson. I have expected to read a lot of anti Earp / Holliday books and such but this one is pretty blatant about it. Not that I mind this point of view but the extend Johnson goes to in some cases is making it hard for me to get through more than a hand full of pages at a time.

I would be interested in your take if you have read this book.

If you are looking for simply a fun/fast read I suggest "Black Hats: A Novel of Wyatt Earp and Al Capone" by Patrick Culhane. The emphasis is on Novel

I do admire people with good taste. If you haven't been to the Cafe Roka as yet, make an effort next time you are in Bisbee. Slightly expencive, but worth the experience. BTW I still have the original Playboy Club KEY.

B.T.W. Steve, I think I have about 4500 MP3 and a good portion of them are the 50's and early 60's. also a lot of video clips from that time period. I'm definitly into real Jazz. Heard my first in the Playboy club in Manhatten with Dave Bruebeck in the penthouse, sitting with a Bunny, enjoying a Filet Mignon.
