What a good horse could do for his cowboy

One of my grandfathers was James Harvey McPeeters. He settled in Brown County, Texas before the Civil War. He and his sons ranched. For many of his final years he was blind but lived alone. Even so, he still went out on the range with his sons, riding a horse and working. One July day in 1878, James and two of his sons were caught out with the herd when a storm hit. James encouraged his sons to head for their homes. He knew his horse would get him home. Some horse that could get a blind man…

Martin Ottis Eidson, not "Will Anderson" and not William Columbus Anderson and NOT Bloody Bill

This is the front view of a page from a family photo album as it sat on display in a mocked up bedroom set-up in

the Brown County Museum annex until shortly after my visit in April of 2007. I had suggested that the album be housed in a cabinet to help preserve the photographs. The museum brought the album into the main building and it is now locked in a glass cabinet. The young man in the photograph is Martin Ottis Eidson who…

Sorry to have accidentally deleted three posts on my page..........

Sorry, I deleted two messages from jay longley and one from Mel. Really sorry. The one from jay was about a web page he put up that is a transcribed version of a 1924 news article by Henry Fuller where Mr. Fuller writes about my great uncle, William Columbus Anderson, being Bloody Bill. He wasn't. Follow-up articles report on how the owner of the newspaper in Brownwood was working with his brother who was also a publisher in Missouri and they were trying to prove up the 1924 article. A photo… Continue

Where do the rights of family members stand in opposition to the rights of historians, both amateur and professional?

I had a great fourth grade teacher, Edna Jagoe. It had been her passion to save the East Texas forest and that passion saved The Big Thicket. But, that is not why I brought her up. She

taught our class this, “Your rights end where my nose begins.” I’m 55 years old

now, so I guess I’ve been keeping that thought around for 45 years. I believe

she meant it physically and mentally.…

"Sally", I am not surprised to see that "the gang's all here" (Smokescreen Gang). The correct legal term you are grasping for is "libel". I've tried unsuccessfully for over 4 years to get one of your gang to take me to court. I'd enjoy nothing more than to state my case (against yours) before a Brown County jury. Of course, you would have to use your real identity in court. That is something I am sure that you and your associates (who I would subpoena) are not willing to do.

"....you do not own this postcard photo. Tell the truth that you got this copy from my Yahoo group: Bloody Bill Anderson Mystery."

Sally, we all know that you bid on and won the postcard. We all know that, while the auction was in progress, the maderater of Bloody Bill Anderson Mystery Group, strongly suggested all members download a copy of the postcard in question, and stated he had added front and back photos of the postcard to the BBAM files. This maderater, who either has a very short memory, or has yet to become acquainted with honesty, now has the audacity to accuse you of lying. He must have been looking in the mirror.

Sally, Hope I am in the right church and not the wrong pew here......I will try my best to be an Anderson lady and to watch your back....
It has been a long haul to prove our bloodline and to correct some of the W.C.Anderson genealogy and give credit to the real Quantrill Raider, William T.Anderson, who fought for what he belived in....and died for his cause.
Thanks for the invite. We shall stand sure!
