Why am I here? Ten or eleven years ago I decided to act upon an idea that I had had for a long, long time. I wanted to write a screenplay for a movie about Doc Holliday. My brother first introduced me to Doc's story when I was about five years old…

Why are we here on True West?

Think about it for a moment, I'm here for the Old West, the True West, the West of Myth and Legends. I'm here to learn, for camaraderie, and to share what I have learned. I am not here for politcal rhetoric, bullying, snobbishness or to have someone debase childhood heros and fine americans. If I wanted that I could just sit down and watch CSPAN, MSN, CNN and so forth. If you want to comment, please do so, be civil and respectfull, if it gets out of hand (as so often of late they do) I'll shut i… Continue

Ammo Shortage

I don't know how things are in Phoenix or elsewhere but here in New Mexico, we are having trouble getting ammo in everything but .22s and shotgun. Cowboy cartridges seem almost impossible to get and the prices are crazy!

Hey Ric,
Thanx for the responce on the video. Wish he would have gotten the county courthorse in there too. The stores a little different than most. I might finish an old blog tonite on that, But Im an ffl licenced gun dealer and distributor of Taylors And Company, stock Frontier classics clothing at less than internet prices, boots and accoutraments. If it was available before 1910 I got some of it.

Little Rock since the 50's has tried to present a metropolitan image. Which is an amazing feat for a bunch of farm hands drivin BMW's. Mon thru friday the usual work week but on friday nite through the weekend it really lights up. Bars are crankin folks loadin up their rv's to get to the lake or the game. Weekends are serious business. Neighbors still help each other, churches are active in the area. Last I counted there are probably 20 gun ranges within 30 miles of town center from dirt pits to real ranges. Demographics are tolerable to southern life. Cost of livin is moderate. Falcon is a good company but I recommend makin money first then moving to Little Rock. If you already work for a company like Falcon and can retain your pay level at transfer. Go for it. You'll be in the top wage earner status when you get there. Crime is below national average but thats because concealed carry is quite popular and open carry has just been legalized.

We are calling it the Obama effect here in Arkansas. There aint a 223 or a 7.62x39 round to be found here. Even my Wolf ammo dealer is out and I hear Black Hills is out too. They have 223 reloads but no fresh stuff. Knesek Arms has 6 uppers and no lowers in a 5000 sqft warehouse. Obama has done for gun sales what 2000 did for us.
