I have set my setting to email me when a thread I have replied to is updated and this takes me directly to the update. However if I am just reading along; oh well I'll probably miss a bunch of stuff.
I think this is done in the films simply to save on screen time. If either movie should have used the screen time have the correct time line it should have been Costner's Wyatt Earp because he was going for the epic from the start.
