Orrington Red Lucas

Around 1979-80, True West magazine ran a story on Orrington Red Lucas. I sure would like to find a copy. I'm researching several U.S. Deputy Marshal's from Fort Smith, 1883-1887, for a reenactment. One of the Marshals is Red Lucas. He was a prolific law officer, but he exploits have been lost. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. I know of Red's involvement in the failed Ingalls OK raid, but need to find information about his Arkansas activity. ThanksZachary…See More

Ray,
Marshal here from Lawbreakersandpeacemakersinc.com here in the Fort Smith area. I'm retired lawdog too but still work at Federal Courthouse as CSO.

Ray we sure would love for you to come up and join us sometime. I know Mena's a bit of a drive from the Fort but we sure could use another 'lawdog' in the club. Give it some thought. I know everyone else would love to have you.

Ray,
We have our meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 7 pm. We are meeting at the Catfish Place on Collum Lane in Alma for Feb. Each month is a different location it seems...Fort Smith, Van Buren, etc. We would love for you to come and join. There are some really good people in the club. Plus! Another lawman would be great! Keep it in mind...we'd love to have you.

Ray,
Glad to hear from you. I hope all is well with you and your family. Yes, that's right we will be meeting at Furr's Cafeteria on the first Thursday of March the 5th. There is a meeting room so ask or look for that. Also, if you want to join the rest of the group for chow try to be there at 6 pm.
I probably will not be able to be there until 6:30 or 6:45 'cause I don't get off work till 6. I'll be looking for you asap. Wear your outfit if you like. Members and guest are encouraged to do so...hopefully, to raise some interest by the patrons of the restaurant. : )
Take care my friend. See you soon!
