GRANDMA

For Simi Valley, Ventura County, California, David Gehard and Robert Winter noted:  "A folk village, with buildings of glass bottle walls, dolls  (whole or parts), automobile headlights, a fountain of fluorescent tubes, and so on.  The buildings include a schoolhouse, a chapel, a thatched house, the  'leaning tower of Pisa,'  and  'Cleopatra's bedroom.'"*1  They were, in fact, referring to Grandma Prisbrey's Bottle Village.  It was through this particular book that I first became acquainted…See More

Hi, Spent a lot of time in the Harbor area when I was younger. Worked as a deck hand on the coastal cruise / whale watch boats out of Marineland. Spent a lot of time at Alaska Freight and Salvage in Wilmington digging out old sailing ship parts and military hardware out of there. Also remember the salvage yard that surplus landing craft stacked up one on top of one another. All gone now. Thanks for the friend request.
