"We've a long way from Poplar, in just about every sense of the word. ;) I'm not sure I'm tough enough to live out there. They get colder and hotter and have a lot more mosquitoes."

"Kari, that sure is some beautiful country but it sure looks cold. Maybe it is a little too cold for a West Texas cowboy, I'm used to dry desert and prickle pear. The cows have to pack canteens from one water hole to the next. Who is that outlaw…"

Hi Kari;\When I was stationed in Marfa (check theTexas map for location) I was a Texas Game warden but I also day workled for 5 different ranches. One was called "The U up and Down Ranch" and it was just that. Was once owned by the King Ranch but sold in 1960 and was privately owned. The mountains were high and sometimes in theearly morning the first gather would be by sound because the fog was up so high and thick. It was fun but hard work but it gave me a chance to learn the country from the back of a horse and not from a vehicle.
Ride on we need more like you and your husband doing God's work on the land.

"Dirty Dogs and Fast Women"? Kari how did you come up with that title???? It sounds intreging and I just wonder what it's about. How do I get a copy? We went to an auction in the big town of Rising Star, Texas, pop. 450, yesterday andit was a real treat. It was if you like antique firearms. Old Winchesters and Remingtons abounded, I even bought a Mod. 17 Rem 20 ga. Lots of fun and lots of other "stuff" to pour over. We like auctions, even livestock ones.

I hope you had an eventful Thanksgiving though yor family left you with the chorse while they visit their families. I just posted my Spirit of Intent Sat. and I'll have my story ready to post on the blog in the first week of Dec. I hope you have, no that is not right. I pray that you have a glorious day today.
