Howdy All!
Finished my shift at work the other day, came home and made my way to the recliner to unwind a little and do some channel surfing. Being a Saturday morning, I can usually find some old west related programming. I found, Billy The Kid: The True Story, on Discovery and settled in. This documentary seemed to be from around the 80's.
Well, as the show progresses, the scene transitions to the expert's…

While on our family trek to New Mexico for Christmas, we happened upon a truck stop somewhere between Van Horn and Sierra Blanca. Nothing spectacular, but seemingly the only gas and grub oasis before reaching El Paso, so we stopped. After a stop in the restroom, I grabbed my caffeine fix and headed for the register. Hurrying the kids along, I lost track of my wife. "Where's Mom?", I asked my daughter. "She's over there. She wants to show you something", was her…

Welcome to the Blog. I see you standing in front of an authentic looking old
west town. We have our own ghost town on our property in Brush Prairie Wa.
You can check our website www.trinitywashington.com We've recently started a reenactment group called the "Trinity Ghost Riders"...JON COUTURE
A few of the buildings are close to 100 years old. I live in a rural area and people are pretty willing to get rid of buildings that are falling down. I moved many of them and I do the building and "remodels" myself. I've been working on the project for 15 years. I got my love of the old west during
my visits to Corriganville which was located in Simi Calif. Even though it dosen't exist anymore you can still see their website. Many B westerns were filmed there. JON
The only person that said it couldn't be done was my wife. She couldn't figure out why/how I was doing what I was doing. Remember this all happened over 15 years.....I add to the town as I find stuff. I'am working on
building a mine now....I always add pictures to my site so keep checking..

Happy New Year!

I was introduced to the story of the Alamo by my father when I was a little boy. He sat me down to watch Disney's Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier and I was hooked right then and there! From that moment on, the story of the Alamo has been a life long passion of mine.
I am hoping to make it this March as I've gathered an entirely new reenactment kit and I feel committed to attend all of the Alamo festivities. But it all depends on finances. Either way, I will keep you posted!
All the best,
Wade
No problem about the tardy response. Happens to me all the time!
I actually booked my trip to San Antonio today! So, I will certainly give you a schedule of events for early March as time draws closer. I should have the schedule soon enough. It'll be an exciting time. Your kids may enjoy the reenactments. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite parts about the Alamo battle reenactments is interacting with the audience and tourists inbetween the demonstrations. Everyone gets a thrill out of it. All in all, it is a very exciting time. The Alamo Plaza demonstration should be quite a sight as well.
I will keep you posted!
All the best,
Wade
Man, that's a great ol'time western name.
Looking forward to some great Texas recipes and down home culinary advice.
Welcome Joey.
