I have to agree with what you said, it was more alon the line of political rhetoric and disrespect to the site. And if it were true, and written by a reported historian, then why didn't the historian not have his sources listed, and I don't count Pl…

Grandfathers Stories

Grandfather Runs About Like A Horse Story

The bonfire snaps and crackles with orange-yellow, yellow-orange flames jumping up, reaching as to touch the heavens but only to vanish in mid air, as if darkness swallowed them. The fire’s light was so big that it brightened the darkened shadows where one could see the small adobe house, and the large cottonwood tree looming in the curtain of night-ness’. Low in the same light one could also see six children varied in age lying side by side on an old l… Continue

SPIRIT of INTENT - Indian's Have Humor

Spirit of Intent - Indian’s have Humor

In my travels across our country over the past some years, living within different cultures and people of all races, religions and life styles, I have found that one of the best ways to understand that group is to understand what makes them laugh. And trust me there are differences, even among Native people, depending on the region one comes from.

And trust me on this, for as a Native American Indian we are totally opposite of the popular Television prog… Continue

New Mexico Chili Cook off

A good friend of mine from Texas said he got this from his friend in New Mexico and thought it was worth passing on to you from me. Remember from where I got it, it may have become a tall Texas tale, but it evolved around truth but now in the story form, and felt it was worth passing it along, especailly to the gents in the group.

"New Mexico Chili Cook off"

If you can read this whole story without laughing, then there's no hope for you. I was crying by the end. This is an actual account as re… Continue

Can anyone tell where the Native Americans came from with their vocabulary.

Spirit of Intent
Can anyone tell where the Native Americans came from with their vocabulary.

To examine any language one has to use at least three languages to make a valid comparison. I was informed that the Algonquian language has Arabic words in it from a member of True West, that intrigued me so I thought that this would be a good time to explore some of the language in general, and include Native American language as well. Now I have to say, I didn’t know that the Arabic words were also fo… Continue

Why is the word 'SQUAW' so offensive today?

SPIRIT OF INTENT

Why is the word “squaw” so offensive today?

First of all, it is believed by many that it is not any Indigenous word from any of the people that occupied the American soil, in other words it is not an Indian word. It was more than likely a word created by European colonists, before it became the United States of America, who could not pronounce the native Algonquian word for 'woman.' In the Algonquian native languages, the word for woman includes a “SKW” sound to it. It would o… Continue

Hello Johnny. I want to thank you for the words of beauty you bestow upon me and I am honored you find me likewise in spirit and in heart. I try to be true to myself and to my parents and the way they raised me and for all the animals I am blessed to have in my life. They certainly have a kindness in them that reflects their open souls with unbias and pureness of heart than often times mankind does not. You are a true friend in your honestly and kind spirit and I thank you for that. R

Dear Uncle...I am still here but it is becoming very difficult to continue. I will stay for awhile and see how things go but I am afraid that this site is becoming quite toxic. I am also very busy with other things...the Holiday season is upon us and I have much to do. I hope you are well. I know you visited the Dr. and I hope his news was good. I will be visiting the other sites you mentioned...eventually, but I need some time away from this to regain my balance. I hope your Sacred Season is a wonderful one...

Hey, Johnny, Thanks for your greeting the other day. I just haven't been on this site too much lately. I've been very busy marketing the new book, "Saving Tom Black." It's just a great book...the guy really deserves a much much better publisher than me! Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and that you are well. Becky

Hi Johnny, I noticed your post on the blog about" Who is Gloria Wood?", wondering if they were chased off by some people here. I don't think that's the case here. I think these 3 women are fictitious identities. People think they are collecting email addresses from members for spam or other purposes.

I did some research and found out that the photo of Abigail Howard came from a website-building site. It's been used on other sites when a photo of a woman is needed. I couldn't find anything on the photos of Gloria Wood and Jimena Griffen, but their photos are also professionally done. None of the three has interacted with anyone here. No messages, no posts, and there is no personal info, like occupation or hobbies, at all on their pages. I'm afraid I agree with the others, that they are up to no good. I had accepted Abigail as a friend, then did that research, then removed myself as a friend. Better safe than sorry.
