Yep, and I just got personally attacked and called a bigot for not wanting to go see an exhibit inspired by the movie Brokeback Mountain. I guess people who write books for children, love God and b...

Feedback Needed

I used to have two separate websites--one for my books, the other for my speaking business. But with the economy being the way that it is now I decided not to renew one of them so I have combined both into one.

I just finished my update and any of you have the time I would love to have some feedback. My main concern is whether the website is easy to navigate and understand, and is there too much information that could overwhelm the visitor.

Thanks in advance for your comments. The link is… Continue

Well It's About Bloody Time

I don't know what kind of world bureaucrats live in, but I doubt there's a one of them who could survive in the private sector.

For weeks I've been hung up trying to get my latest book, Riding with the James Gang, completed. The manuscript is finished and edited, the cover design is 99.9% complete, but we have been waiting forever and a day for the Library of Congress data.

The Library of Congress is data is one of those gobbledy-goop pages before chapter one. It is meaningless to the a… Continue

Tombstone Travels

I went down to Tombstone yesterday to participate in Vigilante Sunday. The Vigilantes perform every second, fourth and fifth Sunday, and I've been so dad-gum busy that I haven't joined them in almost a month. Life happens.

I have a love/hate relationship with the permanent Border Patrol checkpoint on the highway just outside of town. I love the fact that they are trying to keep illegal immigrants out of our country. I love the fact that most of the agents are young, good looking studmuffins who… Continue

Tech Issue With Ning

I'm usually more computer savvy than this, but I have run into a little Ning glitch and need help trying to figure this one out.

I have several e-mail accounts, (some I use for business, others for personal), and the domain name for the e-mail account I had attached to my True West account is set to expire soon. Awhile back I tried to change it to a more current e-mail account that I am using for some of my other Ning forums, but the system would not let me make the change. I got an error messa… Continue

I'd use InDesign, but my printer actually takes Word. At this time in space and energy, I've actually almost 100% mastered Word!! I think Apache will be PERFECT. I need to re-do Tom Black, however, but it's not like URGENT. Just annoying me. Good to know about your expertise, however. I'll most definitely keep that in mind!! I've heard InDesign has a steep learning curve...??

Penny update...she is doing pretty good...I got her one of those electric dog pads to put under her blankets...it warms up when the dog lays down on it...so she slept very toasty last night and was able to jump up pretty fast this morning when I went out at 5am to feed!

Evening Gayle --- I really enjoyed meeting you at Mesa Old West Days, and exchanging our books with one another.

It didn't make us any money, but created fond memories, and a True West friendship that is real.

Look forward in sharing as we ride this Cyber Trail -- Until The next go round -- Stoney.

Hi, Gayle,

Yes, it was GREAT meeting you. I'm sorry I didn't get to spend any time with you in your booth - I had a handful to deal with.

Like you, I've been off the site quite a bit. Too much bickering. Plus, I'm working my ass off trying to get "Apache" layed out CORRECTLY. Working in Word is a bitch. I've also got JR Sanders' "The Littlest Wrangler" to start putting together too. I want to have both books in print by the Festival of the West...not much time. Then I've been doing all these events for the past weeks...two more weekends to go and I'm off duty until February! Well, off the sales venues...just office work on those new titles. That's a full time job as it is! I guess I understand why they say "no rest for the wicked"! :) Good grief! Listen to me complain. Sorry!

Talk with you later.

Becky
