Hey Fred,
Most of the catalogues I refer to are from my own pile that I've collected over the last 35 years and yes ,I intend to post illustrations from them covering a variety of subjects-guns,hats ,clothing games etc.I've been threatening to start a group here about Victorian era clothing and should get my backside in gear pretty soon but it seems like I'm always cranking out new men's duds,a sideline business of mine and selling antiques and doing other artsy stuff just gobbles up my time!Happy to do the friends exchange!

I'd love to see the pics of the old drums (I have a rare & collectible drumset),I'm a Ludwig fan & know their history.
I haven't bought anything at End of Trail in a couple of years,do you have your wares there?
Fred
Hey Fred,
I just now discovered your response as it was posted to yourself rather than to my last comment. There are a number of good reproduction catalogues out there-Dover reprints a number of them you might want to acquire-1895 Montgomery Ward,1886 Bloomingdale's,1892 Jordan Marsh and others. If you look on Ebay you might want to pick up an 1897 Sears Roebuck.I might also recommend that you look on there for out of print repro specialty catalogues-gaming suppliers, guns and sporting goods, jewelry etc.A bunch of old catalogues have also been transferred to disc and are also a great reference resource and are also on Ebay.
End of Trail-used to do it a lot when it was still here in California but only hit it now and then these days.Iusually sell at smaller events and do a good deal of custom orders as well as word of mouth has been pretty good for me.I cover the gamut from small accessories such as spats, shirt collars and ties to complete 3 piece sack and frock suits, many in styles not offerred by the big commercial western outfitters, focusing primarily on 1880's fashions as the big boys seem mostly locked in on a sort of 1870's generic look.Ialso offer Victorian smoking jackets in velvets and brocades for the gentleman who wants to lounge in style while enjoying his brandy and cigars!
Fred,
Nice to be near the big event.Old west events here in S.Ca. have been producing diminishing returns--four long running venues have bit the dust in the last couple of years. One,the Harvest Fair, died after over 25 years because of economic non support but we replace them with smaller specialty events and keep the old west alive. My own business is now multi state and I even get a fair amount of orders from Europe.I honestly believe that we can keep old west re enacting alive with perseverance and imaginative marketing.
