I just recieved some great reviews for "Homesteader"
I write because I enjoy telling stories of the west and I include history because I think it's necessary (and exciting) to have some understanding of how we all arrived where we are and how we think as we do. I also think it is necessary to realize that people made that history. Those who research the past put the facts all together for us but without people there would have been nothing to put together.

A few times I’ve been up the Alaska Highway for one thing or another and have always enjoyed the beauty of so many parts of the trip. Muncho Lake, Toad River, Teslin Lake … well, I enjoy it all.
The Toad River stop along the Alcan is along one edge of the Muskwa-Kechika country.
There are some great pictures of this open and untamed part of the west. Yes, access is possible to this area larger than Switzerland, (one of these sites below is for a supplier of excursions.) but…

Dave, many thanks for stating it was Hugh reciting; 'The 26th of May' . I listen to 'Spirit of the West' most weeks along with 'Calling all Cowboys' and a couple of others. Hugh's got a very distinct voice, I don't know why I mixed the two up?
