Yee ha! Sure do!

I love the COWBOY MUSIC!!! I haven't been singing THAT long, but I had the opportunity to sing at cowboy venues with the COWBOY WAY SHOW. I was hooked. My problem was finding suitable cowgirl songs that I wanted to sing. Oh yea.... I like the traditional songs like RED RIVER VALLEY and contemporary Johnny Cash "DON'T TAKE YOUR GUNS TO TOWN", but I thought, there has to be more. So, what you see off to the left side, is what I have come up with, SO FAR~! I wrote each of these songs, music and lyrics. I have been inspired with the writings of my current project, a western romance novel, the first in a series of three called TIME IN CONTENTION. Now about the music......... Sorry, but music is no longer available on TRUE WEST.... guess they ran out of space. Be sure and check out my writing partner's TRUE WEST page also, T.B. Burton.

Cindy,

Sorry my friend, w had no Christmas to speak of. We came from a physical abusive home, much beatings of mother and kids, until my mother was kill. Then it was us kids until the family was split up. I do remember we did have a tree twice, one time it was from some town group, but we could keep any of the gifts, fruit, nuts or candy.

So, in a way, I am not so much into Christmas either, but we have a tree, decor. and give presents because my wife was raised in the tradition.

But, I'll give it some thought, because there had to be at least one time we, I had something during that time.

I am glad you had a good dad, and have some good memories of that time growing up.

You have a good week my friend.

Cindy,

Howdy my friend. It has been a while since we've connected. Hopefully you have a great time on Thanksgiving with family and friends.

I've written and post my blog 'Spirit of Intent' on Indian Humor, and hopefully it is recieved well by thosde who read it.

I've got another one of my Grandfathers Stories that will be ready by the first week of Dec. and my Great Uncle Petes Story that should be ready by Jan. 2010. I am slow, but I am steady and get it done. I wish my fingers were as fast as my memory, but we work with what we have don't we.

Well my friend I stop by to say Howdy, and to wish you a good week day.

God Bless and keep you.

Hi Cindy; Brady is the exact center of Texas, according to the GPS locators. About 40 miles south of Brownwood and about 80 miles eastof San Angelo. I know where Baytown is as I was stationed in Galveston for 7 years as a Game Warden and worked the Centenial at the San Janicto Mont. Nice town if you like oil, traffic, and lots of water. Of course I do miss the seafood down there.

Cindy,

Though I was born among my people, nost of m y life has been among the Nakai-ye and indaa and very little with Nde as a child. So, I had no real language, but a Hinz verity of American English, Mexican Spanish, French and Nabaachii miizaa, (Apache language). Boy what a mess up kid I was in school. Then I had polio in the 6th grade and missed school and everything for a year, and my language changed, but not my grammar or spelling, it got worse. Then my father went to prison and my brothers and sister were all split up. I went with my Mothers side who were French and their English was just as bad. I was with them until my senior year in high school, when I went to live with my older sister and her husband. No Apache was spoken all this time. Turned 21, got married and still no Apache. My wife is Penn. Dutch and we are still together. In 1972 I took my wife qand children to meet my family at the Rez in AZ. & NM. I was treaded like I was a indaa, but they could not turn me away. That was the last time I saw any of my Aunts, Uncles from the Rez. I see my brothers and sisters from time to time, but not often, but they two are dying off, and now we are down in size.

So, I have had to do my study and recollect words and sayings on my own. You are young enough to do the same, and if they have an Apoache/English Dictuary, I bet they have some from you people as well. Don't ever give in or give up, if it is in your bijii (heart) it is to be or you will stumble on your lifes path shils aash.

Ka dish day,

Johnny

You have some good recordings. You're farther along the trail to making western music than I am, especially writing your own music. Keep writing... originality is where its at!
