Bob, I'm sorry, maybe I missed something? I only watched the video. There are plenty of people who will find Steagall's program very entertaining.
Did you see the video "Bungalo Bill" made? It's about the miners who found gold on Sutter's Mill in 1…
Heya, Bob...good to here from ya, pard....I like "In The Bunkhouse" so far...seems too short...should be an hr long..I get it on DishNetwork on RFDTV...I watch that channel quite regular...take care and watch yer top notch!!
Congratulations! I thought I would do my contest a little different. Make folks get a little more involved. Hey Buckshot I will get Miss Juni to sign that CD for you. I will be seeing her Wen or Thur in Albuq. So I will be mailing it from there. I love that song. But what can I say I am hooked on the West! Thank you for listening and being a part of "CowTrails"! Your Western Belle, Barb
Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I got to read that article that you sent me yesterday and found it interesting! I was going to order that magazine at one time and just thought of waiting.
I like the descriptions that they young guy told of the Dalton's and the gang. He gave a vivid description I thought. He must have been very scared when all of that broke loose that day.
There is a book that I bought off of Amazon, I believe, called "Captain Jack and His Life and Times". The guy that wrote that book lives here in Fort Smith and teaches at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. I think that it is here at the UAFS and not the one in Fayetteville that he teaches. One of his ancestors was a detective and was after the Dalton's at one time. I haven't read the book yet seeing that I have so many books to read already.
Oh, Kith wanted me to ask you if you had any of the old articles that Emmett wrote back in the 1930's? She is looking for some article that Emmett wrote back in those days. I didn't know if you had any articles on Emmett that went back that far or not. I told her that I would ask you.
Read those articles that you sent me the other day. Thanks for sending me those.
I haven't read the one about the Dalton's and Bill Doolin. The story though had it that Grat escaped threw the window of the trian! I wounder how they came about that one seeing that Grat had escaped the jail and took off with the team of horses with the other Riley Dean!
I wonder what everr happened to ol' Riley? I know that he got caught on that mountain but what ever happened to him after that?
Oh, I am sending you a photo through you email that shows a great shot of Emmett Dalton's badge that he said he wore and a gun that he presented to Chuck Martin. I would have love to see what all Emmett left ol; Chuck when he died from his estate. Chuck was a luck guy to get all of that!
Oh, I just wanted to add here a little to what I have already written. I would think that the boys did want to dress up to tell Coffeyville off see that they were not liked there by the people. But, you know someone told me that the people made a statement that they were dirty and lice infected! They didn't look it to me in the photos that I seen. Grat is dressed nice and has a jacket and vest on. All of the rest look nice too to me! I don't know who said that but probably one of he citizens that hated them like many of the rest.
