This is some discussion about a person that was basically a "nobody."
I believe Ringo was suffering from severe depression most of his life, and, after going on a heavier than usual drinking binge, he just ended his miserable life himself.

An article by Leah Alden Jaswal in the October "Tombstone Times" says that Billy Clairbourne's last words after Frank Leslie shot him were that he saw Leslie shoot Johnny Ringo (they had been together on a drinking binge). She does not cite a source.
Just as an aside... I'm a big fan of that 'Forensic' show... but also learned some good stuff 'bout physical evidence as a cop. Ennyhoo... I came up with the 'pick' angle myself. 'Never read that (or heard it) anyplace... The 'missin' scalp' part ...

True 'nuff... but that still doesn't explain the missin' chunk of scalp not associated with the gunshot wound. I'm thinkin' sombody was swingin' that pick... knocked him down at least with that blow 'n delivered the coupe de grace with the pointy ...

- I have a copy of a warrant for the arrest of one Wyatt Earp and John Shown signed by the US Federal Judge for the western district. You want a copy ? Also my building is coming along and I expect to be somewhat open by 10/10. Im waiting on the arrival of a display real cw cannon it weighs 2100 lbs.In my saloon I have 2 round tables. Should I cover them in felt to look more correct? Bein your the gamblin furniture guru here.

Also you might be interested in taking a look at Dan (dave) Tucker a Silver City lawman who has been overlooked historicly.
