I know that Wyatt Earp wrote out Johnny Ringo's surname as Ringgold, but I have seen copies of signed documents in which Johnny signed his name as Ringo, the more commonly seen version. I also believe his sisters in California also used the name of…

Thanks, Ed. That is good to know.

Howdy Bill!! Something that you might need to know. I don't know about AWA firearms, but all Colt single action army revolvers have milled butts. I'm talking about the backstrap and the entire piece of metal that the grips attach to. This means tha…

Thanks for all the input, guys.

All military Colts had 1-piece wooden grips, likewise those sold to state militias. When Colt started putting on the 'gutta percha' or hard rubber grips in the '80s, those couldn't be made 1-piece.

For Colts the one piece grip was standard from the begining, I've read the two piece showed up around 1882, no reason why. The Remington pistols and S&W's had two piece grips from day one. An interesting question for sure. BTW - to remove yours tak…

Howdy Bill!! If I'm not mistaken, the original Single Action Army issue were 1 piece wooden grips. I've seen serial number 001, and if I remember correctly it had 1 piece wooden grips. I don't recall seeing a screw in the handles. There are also ma…

I prefer the one-piece grips myself, but I am still wondering if both types were always availablw from Colt, or did one preceed the other in the history of the Peacemaker? Probably not an importabt issue, but I am curious.

Howdy Bungalo Bill!! The 2 piece grips are held together by a screw through the middle of the grips. The 1 piece grips are held together by drilling holes on the inside of each grip and then fitting a piece of wood, ivory or metal between the 2 hol…

I am no gun expert, and in fact I know very little about guns of the old west. I do own a genuine Model 1873 Springfield trapdoor rifle and a "Derringer" replica. I also own an AWA Peacemaker clone. I have noticed that there exist two types of grip…

I had to put your book down for a few days, but I got back into it yesterday. I have to say that the chapter on the Denver City Hall standoff could be turned into a movie screenplay all by itself. Not sure where it would end, though. Kinda hard to f…

Why am I here? Ten or eleven years ago I decided to act upon an idea that I had had for a long, long time. I wanted to write a screenplay for a movie about Doc Holliday. My brother first introduced me to Doc's story when I was about five years old…

Bill,

That my friend is what is important, that you enjoy these things in life. That is what life is all about! Helping others and enjoying the good things in life. When I was youngster it was the simple things, but those times are gone, and now it is computers, cellphone where you can do almost anything with, and wii. So we enjoy where we are today with what is here, as in your game.

Have an evfentful day with God's blessing.

Bill,

I am not familar with this character Corporal Stone, maybe you can point me to where I read about this Indian Fighter.

Most of us Indians are accepting of all titles give to us by others, and we have many give to us.

Indigenous Native Americans is give to educators and politicans,(Who want to be Politicly Correct), Native Americans are give by people with a higher degree of education, (Your Rich Fokes), American Indians by friends, Native Indians by less educated less educated, and Indians by un-educated and Hollywood movies stars.

It is an honor also for me, to call you friend Bill, and hopefully over time it will have develop with substance.

Bill,

I am greatful that you accepted me into your circle, and I promise I won't be shooting arrows at you either. Native Americans take friendship very seriously.

Thanks again,

Johnny
