Jeff, I would love to be a part of the SBHF, if only I could. I'm up here in Montana. I remember you when you lived in Great Falls. I was a fledgling poetry gathering performer back then and I was so impressed and moved by your perfomance of John Si…

Hi WOTW members, I've spent the past year learning about Rhoda Sivell, a Canadian poet who immigrated from Ireland in 1885 and spent her adult life ranching with her husband in the Medicine Hat region of Alberta. I've put a number of her poems to mu…

Boy you sure do make Baxter look good, without you it is just him and his mustache. Hi Almeda, I am Jim Kitchens and I sent a request to be a friend. I have been perfoming for about 10 to 12 years mostly in the Alpine Texas area but I have spread out some. Where do you go and what do you do in your poetry? I have my own business in Custom Saddles and Boot Repair and am in the process of writing a poem titled "Boots I have Known." Sound good huh, O well, tell Baxter hi for me and have fun while performing.

Almeda,

It has been a while, so I thought that I might stop by and say hi. I hope you had a joyful holiday and that it was all that you had hoped it might be. I just post on the blog my Spirit of Intent on Indian Humor and hope it is taken well by the readers. I have a story that I'll be posting in Dec. around the first week an d yet another in Jan. if all goes well. I pray that your singing career is doing well and that you are to busy to take on anothe gig, but not so busy that you can't be with the family as you want.

Have a nice Sunday my friend.

I will keep you in mind for our cowboy heritage festival next year. (October) We try to utilize mostly local talent but if you were in the state doing other things...I bet I could get you a slot.

Many thanks for those words of support Almeda!

To tell you the truth...I will, in fact, be in Elko during the gathering, although not a direct part of the Florida Cracker exhibit they are advertising.

There will be a another contingent of colorful cracker charactors who will be putting on an additional event at the NorthEastern Nevada Museum the same week as the gathering. Myself,as well as several Florida cracker poets, storytellers, and artists will be doing a special exhibition of our talents. Wednesday through Friday; 3:00 to 6:00 at the museum !

I am probably going to be in Elko all that week so I hope I get to see you while I am there ! Swing by the museum if your schedule permits.

Just wondering. I haven't been to Montana in many years. My dad's buried in Dillon (died in Korea). I really need get up there soon. I love the colder weather not like Texas at all. Thanks for responding.
Happy trails!

Almeda,

For me and my people the word 'FRIEND' is more than a word, nd we don't take that word very lightly my new found friend. Now, for me at least, now I have to work at becoming encased in the word.

Thank you for accepting me into your circle, and I will work at making the word have meaning within it.

Johnny
