Chapman????

I don't think it's Chapman, but it does look like illustrations of him in one of BBB's books.

My picture of Frank Coe is just like this one, same paper frame, background and full faced pose. Fred Nolan asked me once for a picture of Chapman the lawyer who was killed by J.J. Dolan in the streets of Lincoln. I sent him what I thought might be Chapman but it turned out to be Godfrey Gauss. Yeah, I made a mistake.

I don't know much about Chapman, except that he had only one arm. Nolan very clearly told me this, then I read BBB's book and looked at the illustrations of Chapman in it. Yep only one arm. Also white hair and beard. Is this Chapman then? Could be. Prolly isn't, of course.

But just between you and me? Yeah, it's him. Might as well be.

I'm still thinking about my picture of maybe Huston Chapman. As I consider the story, when he was killed his jaw was swollen from an impacted tooth. As we study this man he looks like he may indeed have a sore tooth. I wouldn't call him a "charmer". Let's see, I'm going to have to hunt up my copy of "The West of....". Too much reading to just find his age.

Yeah, yeah this probably isn't the ill fated lawyer, but it just might be. Chapman probably looked bout like this guy, and I'm going to picture this face in my mind's eye when I consider him.

This fellow cannot be Chapman because he was only 32 when he was murdered. I just don't think this old fellow could be that young. I picture Chapman looking like this, but it just cannot be.
