Not Bill Bonney/McCarty/Antrim, but the photo is a good one for showing old time westerners with their rifle barrels in the dirt.

Murray, what makes you so sure it's not Billy?

Comment by Murray A. Gewirtz on April 21, 2012 at 2:42pm

Polly, he looks NOTHING like the known Billy photo. His face is too wide, nose too short, eyebrows and eyes too near each other.

Comment by Steve McCarty on April 21, 2012 at 5:02pm

Polly: He looks kind of like the kid to me.  Seems a little stout however.  He's about the right heigth, high cheekbones, pointed chin, can't tell much about  his eyes.  Looks like he may be wearing a sugar loaf hat.  Winchester carbine.  Some kind of holster pistol.

The men in this picture with the purported Billy are said to be Texas Rangers.

Since this photo is not very clear and is very old and damaged I don't see how anyone can tell much about the dimensions of the face. This is said to be a photo of Billy posing with the Texas Rangers.

The above comment is for Murray.

Those guys do look like Rangers.  Remember, a lot of guys went by Billy the Kid.  One was killed at the OK Corral.

I know that Steve but this was said to be William H. Bonney not the generic Billys.

Comment by Steve McCarty on April 22, 2012 at 10:20am

I don't think it's Billy tho.  Why would the kid be hanging around with these guys?  I've never heard of any of them.  Billy's pals are well known.  These fellow are posed like I've seen Rangers posed before.  I think it's a great photo however.
