You can read my books "So You Wanna be a Cowgirl" and "Cowgirl Days". Both are contemporary and can be purchased on Amazon.com or my web sit (little cheaper that way) www.prgottbooks.net

I live in Maine! Although I'd love to help celebrate the spirit of Women of the west...not much chance of that, I'm afraid.

I'd be interested if anyone has any information on my great aunt, Janey Williams-Reed. She was one of the first lady bronc riders, riding with both Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West Show, and the Miller Bros. 101 Ranch Shows. All I've ever been able to find out has been from oral history and a few copies of family tree history. Neither Wild West Show kept very good records of their female performers. Her stage name was "Bronco Jane." It's possible it was spelled "Broncho Jane." Spelling of the word has changed over the years.

My next book "The DAYES of Wyoming", due to be released 2010, has a female protagonist. The story is historically based, in the late 1800's. However, Bertha Daye is fictional, albeit a realistic "butt-kicking" horse trainer, wife of mountain man Charlie Daye, and mother to two orphans.
I'll let you all know when it is in print as I'm sure you'd enjoy her adventures.

more, she made it plain in her will that whoever laid her out after her death had to be a woman. She was very modest and did not want a man mortician.

Annie trivia...Buffalo Bill kept her in short skirts with her hair down because the public was more enthalled with a sharpshooter that seemed to be a teenager than and older lady of 25.

She was frugal to a fault...due to her early years of poverty
