Regarding Fort Worth rivers. The Clear and West forks of the Trinity converge just below where the Tarrant County courthouse sits on the bluff. That was the site of the original military post, established in 1849, called Fort Worth. Perhaps the nearest other river of consequence is the Brazos, which descends west, south-west of Fort Worth, about 30 miles away.
