I am a "lefty" but can shoot with both hands(pistols) I have to shoot rifle & shotgun right handed because of my pacemaker, (bummer) whick keeps my heart working.

Tim, to answer your question: I was taught to shoot right handed and found I am better lefthanded. Also, when I worked for DOD police(Dept. of the Navy) My rangemaster said it was a good idea to be able to shoot with both hands incase something happened to one hand, you were still able to stay in the fight. Made sense to me. Besides, some of my western heros were two gun men.

I'm a SASS shooter.  I shoot my left pistol left handed, my right pistol right handed.  Double strongside rig.  I'll eventually move to double duelist and gunfighter, so shooting with both hands is good habit and makes my transitions faster.

Us lefties are more by lateral than our wrong handed pards.  Best thing about shooting my '73 left handed?   Less brass in my hat.
