Sam,

I think I was mistaken, I pulled up a photo from their website and side by side the entire group does not match up. One of the group is close but I'll have to wait for a cigar. Shucks!

Rick,

Thanks for the invite to this group. I am relocating to the Colorado Springs area in the next year and am interested in finding a reenactor group in the Colorado Springs or Denver area.

As a re-enactor group we research the community history and present one show involving that action. Upon completion of that act we have the rest of the day to fill in and we use what we call crowd pleasers. This draws the crowd back to a central area for the venders who definitely appreciate us. The fact that we perform one historically correct act allows us the monicker of Re-enactor. Otherwise we would be considered an oldwest theatrical group performing skits to please the public. That and the fact that the insurance companies are more apt to insure a theatrical group as compared to a gunfighter group.

The wife and I do Mountain Man Rondevous' for fun and the enjoyment of the experience. I do the Civil War both as Command Sargent Major of the 1st Cherokee Mounted Rifles Under Gen. Stande Waitie and as a Sargent in the Federal Signal Corps. This is a re-enactment of Battles fought here in the Territories. We do the oldwest scene for fun and enjoyment some of which are re-enactments such as the Ingalls gunfight. In doing both historically accurate re-enactments and shows for the public does this make us any less a re-enactor? We have learned that doing both within the same day not only shows the history of the area but also bring enjoyment to the public. Some gunfighter groups like ours can and have done both for our enjoyment as well as the publics

Your personna is that of a working cowboy. If that is all you wish to portray. You limit yourself to a working marshall or a bandit, Trail drover and such. As a Latino I play many parts from a sheepherder in a simple outfit sans weapons other then an old front loader. Then comes the bandito outfit as seen in my photograph. Then theres the Don outfit. The mixed outfit breed Indian Mexican Comanchero. All are period correct. Fortunately my wife of 36 years plus is an excellent stitcher and has made many of our outfits following patterns used from 1830's to 1900. My experience in leathercrafting has allowed me to create period correct leathers from leather pants and shirts for our mountain man personna to leather belts and holsters for civil war personna (She made all of my federal and confederate uniforms) to our oldwest personna. She plays a mean Belle Starr and Carrie Nation as well as a self sustaining prairie woman. We attend elementary schools during their history classes and present ouselves as boomers during the land run days letting them know what it was like back then. We have been praised by the schools for our accuracy in our presentation.
