Only the book Crow Killer, the movie Jeremiah Johnson and the internet sites gives you any information. There is much more in diaries, archives, libraries and other men's tales.
He was not only a scout, trapper and trader, but dabbled in theatre!

I knew Jeremiah Johnson was about this guy. I did not realize he was in theatre. Are there any books about him, or books with him in them? I like to study Mountain Man history.

Christopher, thanks for the swell pictures from Trail Town, Cody, Wyoming. I might note that Jeremiah is the movie name for Johnston and that he was not born in 1824.
I am in contact with several of the Mountain Men who were at the reburial and one student and Tri, the teacher who helped in the process of moving Johnston's remains.

I always figgered if I lived back in Jerimiah's time, I probably would have been known as "Testicle-Eatin' Brannon"......on account of my fondness for "Rocky Mountain Oysters. That would probably scare the pants off'en anty varmit lookin' to play mischief with yours truly. God what a life!!! To live as a mountain man before there was any laws and such?!! Damn I'm sorry I missed it!!!!

Opps....plumb forgot to introduce my self! I am Brian Brannon, I have worked as a mountain guide from The Throughfare in beautiful Wyoming, to the Neisling River in the vastness of the Yukon Territories. I am at home in the wilderness far more than I am in ANY city, and I have the generosity, and friendliness that all "wilderness Native Americans show to anyone who shows up mat thier fires. I am sixty-three years of age, and still hunt sheep, whenever I get the oppertunity(hence my love of "Oysters"

Check out Crow Killer, The Avenging Fury of the Plains, and of course,
the movie Jeremiah Johnson. I am almost finished with my book on Johnston, which, should give Johnston fans areas to explore about his life.

Just wanted to stop by and say hi from Red Lodge MT.
Always been a fan of Johnson.
Just now actually researching the real man. Also kind of cool I just moved to Red Lodge!

Ken: Hop up to Cooke City ASAP. I flat out guarentee you'll love it! Gotta wait for the snow in the passes to open though, it's closed to all but snow-mobile most of the winter. Pop. twenty some-odd, year-round. It's like steppin' back couple hundred year. Great spot! So is Absoraka(just to youe east)....little cowtown, fifties ideals. Livingston is great too. Shoulda been part of Park Co. Wyoming.

Howdy Ken and Brian.....I sure want to move up there, especially the Red Lodge area. Looked up around there about 15 years ago. Been many times, to RL and Cooke.
I am a member of the Museum in Red Lodge and will be heading up there when my book is published.
