Been a fan of JBH since childhood. Fascinated by the stories of his life, and have traveled to many of the locales where his story was played out. This was a man...devoid of fear, calm in trouble situations, VERY good with a gun and probably the deadliest man in the west when provoked.

wild bill is one of the many characters that makes western history so intresting, especially whene we can visit the sites where the action took place, living where we do makes it just that more fun and enjoyable mpazern

Can anyone speack about the real "why" McCall killed him like that?
Comment by Wild Bill on July 15, 2010 at 7:06pm
No one will ever know the real truth - it died with him. The was areport that the night before he was hung McCall wrote up something but then tore it up before he left his cell.
A confession or explanation - no one knows.
There are many stories about why - the fame, revenge, a paid hit - but the truth will never be known like most legends of the west.

Big fan of Mr. Hickok! He was a true American Old West Marshal! I was told one town he was a peaceofficer that he rode out to a friends farm just before several cowboys got there! When they saw Marshal Hickok they all moved on with out causing any trouble! It was told he loved children but did not have much use for adults!

Any one know any stories about Mr. Hickok that most have never heard? I have read many things about this man and would like to hear everything I can about him.
