I toured his house in Hawaii its pretty close to captain cooks memorial. Great diving there, saw the biggest moray eel in my life there about 45' down.

You all need to come over sometime so I can invite you up to my John Wayne Room. Wonder why I call it that?? Yup,
you guessed it! Best thing about the Duke...he was a GREAT
AMERICAN! My God rest his soul!

Well, Duke, if you ever get this way just let me know. Also,
bring your gear as lawbreakersandpeacemakers will put you to work in some kind of re-enactment! My JW Room is a work in progress...my wife just shakes her head and thinks I'm a little off! Ha! I love it though! Hey! Did you see the Duke astride my 1100 Shadow ACE Tourer in my pictures? Check it out when you get the time.

We've got tons Duke movie memorabilia here at the Autry! Let me know if you wanna stop by - I could definitely cut a deal for the True Westers. Best, Julia at the Autry

GENUINE JOHN WAYNE FANS ONLY:
Yes, we are hosting our annual John Wayne Birthday Celebration May 29 & 30 at the John Wayne Birthplace in Winterset, Iowa. We're saluting 50 years of Rio Bravo and on May 29th we're presenting our annual VIP dinner. This year it's "Duke & the Ladies," an all-girl talent lineup starring country & western legend Lynn Anderson, the impossibly lovely Lacey Black on the Old West piano and Colorado's enchanting Carn Mari and her band, Pony Express. Also featuring Rio Bravo on the Big Screen and, on May 30th, more music, movies and loads of Old West mercantile. For information:

He still grosses more dollars than many live actors - and he should! I just recorded Brannigan in HD just to watch it again.

I'm pretty sure that repeated viewing of "The Sands of Iwo Jima" led to my enlistment in the Marine Corps. It's still a pretty good movie, and I like to see the surviving members of the flag raising in that movie.

Oh and I have a friend who was a stuntman years ago, who did horse tricks on some of the Wayne movies. He tells great stories of them all playing Liar's Poker while they waited. Apparently The Duke was very good to all the people on the movie, and not just a "big star".

Thanks for the invite Duke! Glad to be here.
