I just bought a Roy Rogers poster that shows him on his horse named trigger with the hind legs up in the air.A classic pose provided by Republic Pictures Studio.

I Wrote this Poem

Roy and Me

I was a Cowboy when Roy was on T.V.
He rode Trigger , I rode my Dad's Knee,
It took us half a hour to catch the Bad Guys,
then we'd sing Happy Trails under Western Skies.

He had his Rider Rules so we would grow up right,
and Bedsheets that we could dream on at night,
Well they close down the Museum, the other day,
And Roy, Dale and Trigger and Buttermilk, rode away,
But because Mr. Rogers said l was a Little Wrangler,
That's what l'll be Proud to be until my dying Day

I wonder what will happen to Trigger now that the museum is closed ?

I watched as many episodes of the TV show as my parents would allow and every movie I can still catch. I find myself often signing off on letters or emails with "Happy Trails."

Just want to say I'm a BIG RR fan. I grew up in a 'split' home..... my grandmother liked Gene and my grandpa liked Roy. Needless to say, I was a grandpa's girl! Roy and Dale are the inspiration behind a lot of the cowboy music I write. You'al ever been to the RR & DE festival in Portsmouth, Ohio?

July 14-15th, 2010 – Manhattan - High Noon & Christie’s Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Museum Sale - The definitive and final sale of all other property including the most important and iconic pieces from the museum will be sold via a partnership with High Noon and Christie’s New York City.

That sale will include silver parade saddles, Roy's autographed sports memorabilia, costuming (Nudie’s clothing, hats, boots, traveling trunks), personal photos, fishing gear, badges, toys, trophies and awards. Highlights include the family dining table hand made by George Montgomery, Dale Evans’ charm bracelet chronicling 40 years, legendary silver dollar and longhorn adorned Nudies Of North Hollywood convertible Bonneville that Roy & Dale used in special appearances, the famous Nellybelle jeep from the 1950s TV Show and, arguably, the most famous horse of all time, Trigger. Visit www.highnoon.com or www.christies.com or call High Noon (310) 202-9010 for more information and updated information and photos.

I went to the museum when it was in Apple Valley. I wish I would have had the chance to meet Roy and Dale then.
I'm big on family and heritage. Why does everything have to be sold? I'd like to see everything handed down. I hate to see the collection broken up.

Happy to be here -- sad to have watched all of Roy's "material legacy" be sold off and way from the family. Just wondering from any of you here who'd like to comment -- while we think we understand Roy's legacy to his family friends, do you think the material things important to him -- Trigger, for one -- should have stayed in his family? I know they have to make a living... I'm so sorry I never saw either of the museums.
