Great choice for a group. About 4 months ago I sold one of my horses to a guy in his 30's. He was a dead ringer for GA a good horseman and a country fan I got that cause I could hear his radio when he pulled in. The kid had never heard of Gene Autry. I was shocked so I educated him some. He rented some movies and now hes a fan too.

Old Gene was my favorite cowboy growing up. Faithfully listened to his radio program. Still watch his 30 minute shows on the Westerns Channel.

I sing at a local restaurant. I've learned some old Gene Autry songs, like "Don't Fence Me In" and "Vaya Con Dios". Any time anybody visits Los Angeles, they should make a point to visit the Gene Autry Museum at Griffith Park. Wonderful place.

I have met the man that has the largest personal collection of Gene Autry memorabilia. His name is Albert Frazier in Idabel, Ok. Very interesting collection.

Back in 1942 Gene Autry was in the Air Force and was stationed at Luke Field, Arizona.  I lived with my grandparents on a small ranch outside Glendale.  Their son, my uncle Jay, worked out at the airfield and he brought Gene home with him for Sunday dinner.  At that time we still had no electricity, no indoor plumbing, and my grandmother cooked on a kerosene stove.  Of course, we had fried chicken.  I sat next to Gene, and to this day, can still remember every word he said.  Just imagine the thrill it was for a 9 year old boy who had been raised on Gene Autry Westerns to be sitting next to his hero.  Wow.  What an experience.

I've been a GA fan all my life. 51 years is a long time. I sing "Back in the Saddle again" along with my version "Back in the doghouse again".
