I was very proud and pleased to share the stage with Doris at the "Them Cowboys is Trailin' North' event we had up here a couple of weeks ago just down the road at Spruce Home, Saskatchewan. A great Lady to work with and a very fine Poet and performer. The Awards are most certainly due. Good on ya!

I know Doris a little bit, too, and think it a fine thing that WMA did her such signal honors.

I also thank everybody who responded sympathetically to the call for poets and musicians for the SBHF. Mike and P'llte Tcherkasky came down and we had pretty good days on Saturday and Sunday.

I'm in the middle of writing a sort of 'how to' paper on Cowboy Music and Poetry Gatherings and Doris has given me permission to use a piece she wrote on being an MC at these gatherings. And all of you are right! She's a whale of a poet and a very nice person. Got a question for ya, now that we're talking Alberta here. What do you think of Ian Tyson's new voice? Honestly! Dick

Hi, Dick--
What should I listen to to form an opinion about the change in Tyson? By the way, anybody headed to Kamloops for Mike Puhallo's big annual BCCHS doin's this year?

Well, you could listen to an older CD and then compare it with his newest. And then let me know what you think.

Alpine was alot of fun. I got to palaver with Doris after the open sessions (I was hosting one of them) and she is both a wonderful poet and fine company (she also has a very cute giggle)

BTW Dick, when you get that paper done, I'd love to read it too, also. E-mail me here, or through my website.

Howdy Pards,

I must apologize for not getting more involved in discussions, and shared area's of mutual interest, as I'm just getting settled down scheduling my horse business of 30+ years, while promoting and going to scheduled Cowboy Gatherings with my first book called REFLECTIONS FROM THE WILDERNESS A COWBOYS JOURNEY.

I look at all of your talented accomplishments be it Singing Cowboy Songs, or Cowboy Poetry or writing about historical TRUE WEST,
all of you have crossed many a trail, while I was still working a horseback for the past 30+ years, and still cowboying, at 64.

By the way: My book of Cowboy Poetry and Native American Narratives is based on actual LIVED experiences of my cowboy life working a horseback, either training, or shoeing, in wilderness area's of my great AMERICA from Alaska to the North and South West Regions of America, and a whole lot more in between.

An honor to know all of you on this Board -- Until The Next Go Round, Stoney Greywolf Bowers

Stoney, Id like to read your book and talk about it on the radio show. Want to do that?
