Great idea for a group! We need more Christians sticking together. Sometimes I get down, thinking about how our country seems to be straying away from God. Seeing people like you all just lifts me up!

Every Cowboy Knows There’s A God Above
Words & Music by Stan Corliss

If you’ve ever seen the sun sink low in the Arizona sky

Or slept beside a campfire to the song of a coyote’s cry

If you ever woke up to the music of a mourning dove

Then you’d know why a cowboy knows there’s a God above

Chorus: Now, he may not be a church-going man

A member of any congregation-

But all he has to do is just look at this land

To see the proof of divine creation

If you’ve seen the beauty of a dew drop on a cactus rose

Seen the Rockies from a horse’s back their peaks all capped

with snow

If you’ve seen a mother hold a child, her heart all filled with love

Then you’d know why a cowboy knows there’s a God above

Hey....I just joind and I trust that same Spirit that dwells in me, dwells in all of you and therefore you must be a bunch that are cut out to be partakers in His divine nature. I like that a lot.
Bein' a newby in any pasture is always a time of discovery and uncertainty, but I am lookin' forward to being here for the fellowship and Lord willing, to participate too.
My wife Barb and I live in Eastern Oregon; the dry, cow country side of Oregon.
God has blessed me and my wife with roots that run deep in our beloved West with a cowboy, rural ranch, mining and logging history that runs deep to pioneer days. Thanks for the open gate.

How and Why I came back to Christ. I was Baptized, raised and attended to the Catholic Religion as most hispanics in California were raised. After entering the military I became a heathen catholic. One who after being raised religously quit practicing my religion. Yes I still believed in Christ and the Holy Trinity. No I didn't practice the way I should have. Whenever I needed a message from God I would open the bible blindly and put my finger in it and read a verse under the finger. This would give me the answers I was looking for.
Then along came my Autistic Grandson. We have custody of him.
I'm not ashamed to say that I needed help to control myself and my attitude. Seeking Gods message I opened the Bible as usual and in his message He told me to get my butt back to church. Doing so he has given me The strength to control my attitude and look at it as a gift from God for what it is. People tell me that my place in heaven is assured because of him but I have to laugh and let them know that he has cost me my religion more often then not in cussin at him.
We have been his custodial guardians since he was 4. He is being home schooled by my wife who has a degree in child education and development. He attends church with my wife who is baptist. They have a special sevice for autistic children and he loves to attend. He hears the word of Jesus Christ. As long as we have breath he will be brought up as a christian as all of my children were. They have become heathens as I was in not practicing their religion. When the time comes they will know that my wife and I pray for their well being and their souls.

George thats a great testimony, it reminds me of several things.
1. God does all things for a reason.
2. He will bare our yoke.
3. All things are possible through Him.
4. As with you, and me, your children will come back to the Father. "Raise them in the way they shall go and when they are old they will not depart."
God will surely Bless you for the love you show your grandson. But our sacrifices are small compared to the one He bared for us.

Thank You Kevin. Only those that have given their sons and daughters for the freedoms we observe today know the heartbreak God does in giving up his son for mankind. After 20 years of military service and all of my sons and daughter serving the military for each individual to practice his or her religon with the freedoms known in not many other countries makes our nation one of the greatest. All of my children have survived conflicts and I only hope and pray they will survive their individual conflicts and come back to the religous beliefs that were instilled in them when they were young. I pray that God protects until they return to his grace.
