Well I'll see you there then. I've heard, hopefully it's only urban rumor, that the current administration is already talking about more than two terms in office. Seems we may have a dictator on our hands. That is somehow just really scary sounding. Hope it's just a wild rumor.
I hope you're right. I just have distrust brewing...
OH MY GAWD! I keep thinking it can't get anyworse. You know they'll get billions because he's getting money from sources that are our avowed enemies. These are the people supporting him. Unfortunately, after he gives amnesty to all the illegals in the country (and there are far more than 12,000,000) who do you think they'll vote for?? Hmm?? Maybe Costa Rica will take me...or Belize. How can this be happening??
I'm going to have a margarita. Darn tootin'!
Dont let the government know about this, or they will want people to get a passport, just like we have to have to visit our staunch friends up north. Than that will be more money going to them commies and there rich ceo supporters
There was a great headline on "The Onion" about texas building a wall to keep americans out, was pretty funny, gotta love fake newspapers.
I am a natural born Texan. I have been dreaming for the "Republic of Texas" to rise again for the last 50+ years. I think that if circumstances don't change in Washington, it won't be long before my dream comes true. If you non-Texas residents want to be a part of the ROT, then you better hurry up and get here before the gate is shut.

Hooray for the Republic of Texas ... I ain't kiddin' neither!
If Texas seceded from the Union it would have the 12th largest economy in the world. Of the 5 most populous states--New York, Florida, Illinois, California, & Texas--only Texas has a truly healthy economy. New York & California have spent themselves into bankruptcy & have had to be bailed out by the Federal Government. A lot of the money that went into the bailouts came from Texas.

The US owns very little land in Texas--3 National Parks (Big Bend, Guadalupe Mountains, & Big Thicket), 1 National Seashore (Padre Island), & several military bases, most notably FT Bliss (much of FT Bliss is actually in New Mexico), FT Hood (which, if deactivated, can be bought back by the original owners of the land) & the FT Sam Houston/Camp Bullis complex in the San Antonio area, as well as a few air bases, but nowhere nearly as many as there were 30 years ago. This is because Texas was an independent & sovereign republic for almost 10 years before becoming a state & is the only state to enter the Union by treaty of annexation. That's why the Texas state flag--& only the Texas state flag--can legally be flown at the same level as the Stars & Stripes. All other state flags have to be flown at a height below the national colors.

Texas is also power-independent. We have a statewide power grid that is not connected to any other state's. Since our power grid is not in interstate commerce, Texas is not obligated to bail out any other state if that state's power grid fails--like happened in the northeast blackout some years ago.

We are also the only major-population state to be a right-to-work state. This means labor unions have very little clout in Texas politics. It also means Texas is a very attractive environment for manufacturers. We're getting all sorts of major manufacturers moving here from states where labor-union activity is a big consideration.

The idea of Texas once more becoming an independent nation is very appealing.
