Do you believe that photos of Billy the Kid exist other than the Dedrick tintype which is the only authenticated image of BTK we know of??

That really doesn't look like Brady. His chin is much, much too large. Also he has a different nose.

The old "known" photo of Brady is probably not him.  I know the original source of that photo, and it is in the "Haley" in Midland TX.  Even Jarvis had an enlargement of that photo, but the archivist at the Haley told me that he did not believe it.

Nor does McCubbin's picture look like that one of the "fatter" Brady.

If McCubbin's photo is right, then so is mine...least that's my take on it.

If the old known photo is not Brady, and the new one is, then it's not the same guy.

I agree. Not the same guy.

Wow those eyes!!

I think this person is the same as the first "Billy" I posted. They look identical and I still think they look very similar to Billy.

Melissa, a postcard just sold on e-bay Is this the one you are referring too?

I think there is no question there are many photos of Billy the Kid. However, only one had unquestoned provenance. The late Bob Dyer had at least 4 photos which were in the possession of an Hispanic family in New Mexico who claimed to have received them from Billy himself, but he could never get them authenticated by the 'proper authorities.'

Does anyone know what happened to these four images?  I would love to see them and make my own decision about whether they might be authentic.

Bob died of cancer abt 10 yrs ago.  He was living in Farmington, NM at the time.  He was, at the time, a member of an NM organization called 'The Billy the Kid Outlaw Gang.'  Members of that org may know where the images are today.

I believe and hope there are more Tintypes of Billy the Kid out there.. Last year I found some tintypes at an estate sale. I know the chances of finding Billy are very slim.. 1 in million. Take a look at this one , Is there some similarity ? or just wishful thinking....

Wishful thinking. He doesn't look like BTK, and his clothing and hairdo look like they're from the Civil War period. At that time, BTK was a baby (BTB) and might have worn Billy the Kid jammies. :)
