Hi everybody. I hope I'm posting this in the correct section. I live in Flagstaff, AZ and am hoping to start production soon on a short western comedy that I wrote. I've researched the 19th century American western frontier, well I won't say "extensively," but I've put in a lot of time. I've always loved it, and anything relating to it. Still, nothing's better than hearing thoughts from other people who are enthusiastic about this subject.
What are some elements you'd like to see in a movie like this? What would you suggest a filmmaker avoid doing in a (no budget) western movie? Does anybody in the northern AZ area have recommendations for locations, props, scenery, etc.? Any input, suggestions, information would be appreciated! Thanks.
Synopsis:
Two playwrights in 1885 Flagstaff meet an actress who agrees to produce their play. When her jealous fiancée takes her money, they try to get it back.
