Jelly Bryce

Hi all, It has been awhile since I posted. I have recently read an article in a gun magazine, (the article is on line as well),  about an early FBI agent named Jelly Bryce. I know this is an old west forum but found this guy's story very interesting. Besides, the last time I posted, Frank Hamer's name came up and these two guys were of the same era and by accounts both participated in bringing down Bonnie and Clyde. I just found Jelly Bryce to be the real "gunfighter" deal only in a later era. From the accounts in the article, Mr. Bryce did in real life many times over what legend and Hollywood falsely attributes to lesser men with much greater fame and reputation. My questions: is there a G-men, gangsters, and hoods forum anywhere ?  Are there other people such as Mr. Bryce, good or bad, who would be interesting to read about ? Thanks all

MY DAD (JOE D. LEWIS)BORN 1898,MENA AR.CAME TO OKLAHOMA IN 1905.HE WAS A FRIEND OF JELLY BRYCE FOR FOURTY YEARS,I THINK THEY WORKED TOGETHER IN THE 20'S & 30'S. I REMEMBER SOME OF THE STORIES, AND SOME NAMES OF OTHER FRIENDS. MY DAD LIVED A HARD FAST LIFE, SHOT NINE TIMES IN GUN FIGHTS AT DIFFERENT TIMES WORKING THE BOOM TOWNS OF OKLAHOMA. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT HIS LIFE AS A PEACE OFFICER. A PIC. OF MY DAD TAKEN 1928 MAUD OK.

I don't know anything about your father personally, but from the looks of the picture in enlargement, that's a Model 1878 Colt double-action revolver he's packing.  I could be wrong--all I can see of it is part of the grip, the hammer, & what appears to be a double-action spur--but considering my 16 years in law enforcement, that's not a gun I would have chosen to carry.  I've fired one of 'em & it was an experience sort of like rasslin' an alligator--worth having once.
