CIF, A New Way To Produce An Indie Film?

CIF may not be entirely new, somewhere in history it may have been tried but for now, it appears that it is new and the pilot for this Indie Film Production project is a film by Pennsylvania producer, Mark Seymour, Zone Of Fire.

 

Mark's Zone Of Fire is not a low budget project, as he will tell you, it is a no budget project.

We all have been involved in low and no budget projects and have faced the challenges that having no money brings on. Just one of which is very limited talent.

 

Well Mark Seymour, film producer, and Rickman Fish, web site developer and webmaster, have teamed up to change all of that. By offering an equal "cut" of all of the proceeds that the "made for TV" film Zone Of Fire may (or may not) produce, to each participant of the film, from actors to crew to distribution, this project is at no loss for quality talent.

 

Auditions begin in Austin, Texas on May 30th and run through June 6th. All available audition time slots have been filled leaving only video auditioning for those who were unfortunate enough not to submit their intent of interest soon enough.

 

Filming of Zone Of Fire is slated to begin in the spring of 2011 near Austin, Texas.

 

Many of the potential participants are traveling to Austin from as far away as Utah, Arizona, and California for an opportunity to be a part of history and the chance for a real pay check from an Indie film.

 

Many of the actors that are auditioning have come from Rickman Fish's web site,

Old West Actors For Hire, a web site Mr. Fish created in late 2009 with the sole intent to give professional exposure to actors who are involved in the Old West and Westerns.

This grass roots web site, began with one actor in October 2009 and is now up to 125 actors and actresses from across the United States.

 

Not only does the web site offer such unique ideas as CIF but it also helps keep actors informed of films of the Western genre before they are cast so that the participants in

Old West Actors For Hire have an opportunity to audition for leading rolls and extra positions. The web site is a no cost tool for experienced actors of the old west genre. Additionally, there are no charges to producers, event coordinators, and casting directors to use the web site.
