The Grand National Competition of The Old West 2011

 The Gold Strike Hotel & Gambling Hall proudly presents the 2011 Grand National Competition of the “Old West”.   The Gold Strike Hotel and Gambling Hall is holding it’s second Old West Grand Nationals once again. If you recall the fun packed weekend you had last year well more events and western activities will be coming your way and if you missed last year we hope to see you , May 14th and 15th, 2011 in Jean, Nevada. Gunfight competitions, fast draw, small and large encampment competitions, living history competition and the costume contest.

Once again the Gold Strike will be offering top prize money for all the competitions, and we are working on to have money offered for the Costume Contest.

Guaranteed Prize Money is as Follows:

Gunfight Skit Comp, 1st Place $1,200, 2nd Place $800.00 3rd place $500.00

Large Encampment (anything more than one tent) 1st $500.00, 2nd $300.00, 3rd $100.00

Small Encampment , 1st $300.00, 2nd $200.00, 3rd $100.00

Living History, 1st $300.00, 2nd $200.00, 3rd $100.00

There Will also Large Trophies for these Categories

This year we will be totally under the rules of the Gold Strike Casino, they have chosen to be affiliated with the Reenactment Guild of America once again, this affiliation will function as follows, meaning all rules and guidelines will adhere to the RGA structured Rules and Safety Guide Lines.

A lot of new vendors and old have expressed their desire to return to Gold Strike to offer their wares to the reenactment public. Our town is growing in population and I believe we might even have an Indian Village included, plans are in the works.

Downtown Las Vegas is also having their western weekend event during the Old West Days at Gold Strike, so there will be plenty to do while attending this event.

Rooms will be available to the reenactment community, along with dry camping and casino specials.

A website will be available so that you may download all applications, forms, etc.
